ABC News Suspends Terry Moran for Calling Trump a 'World-Class-Hater'

Summary from the AllSides News Team

ABC News (Lean Left bias) has suspended Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran after he characterized President Trump and top aide Stephen Miller as "world-class-hater[s]" in a since-deleted post on X.

The Details: The decision came shortly after midnight, and after the White House reached out to ABC News, demanding that Moran be punished for his comments about President Donald Trump and Stephen Miller. Miller is often described as the architect behind Trump's immigration policies and is frequently the subject of criticism by the Democratic Party.

Key Quotes: "ABC News stands for objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage and does not condone subjective personal attacks on others. The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards," the network's statement read. Stephen Miller responded to Terry Moran's text by saying, “For decades, the privileged anchors and reporters narrating and gatekeeping our society have been radicals adopting a journalist’s pose. Terry pulled off his mask.”

How the Media Covered It: The Washington Times (Lean Right bias) noted reactions from both Vice President JD Vance and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt calling out Terry Moran and ABC News. CNN (Lean Left) noted it's unusual for someone like Moran to make such a "politically charged" comment on a social media site in the middle of the night. An opinion published by Poynter (Center) states the right is using Moran's post to claim media bias.

For Miller, on the other hand, “hatreds are his spiritual nourishment,” Moran charged. “He eats...

Mr. Moran, who interviewed Mr. Trump in April, said Mr. Miller is “one of the people who conceptualizes the impulse of the Trumpist movement and translates them into policy.”

“But that’s not what’s interesting about Miller,” he said....
