It's Primary Day in Pennsylvania - and Four Other States
Summary from the AllSides News Team
Pennsylvanians cast their votes on Tuesday in nationally watched Gubernatorial and Senate primaries. In the GOP Gubernatoriial primary, State Senator Doug Mastrino was recently endorsed by former President Donald Trump and holds a comfortable advantage. In the GOP Senate Primary, there is a tight race between Trump-backed candidate and TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz, conservative commentator Kathy Barnette, and businessman David McCormick. Democrats hope that their likley nominee for the U.S. Senate, John Fetterman, will mend from a recent stroke and go on to beat any of the Republicans candidates in November, who they believe have demonstrable flaws.
Primaries are also being held today in Kentucky, Idaho, Oregon, and North Carolina, where Trump-backed Senate candidate Representative Ted Budd is likely to win the primary.
