Trump Speaks at CPAC

Former President Donald Trump spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Sunday in his first major speech since President Joe Biden’s inauguration. Trump repeated the false claim that he won the 2020 presidential election several times and teased a 2024 run. Trump also criticized Biden’s immigration policies and attacked Republicans who voted in favor of impeachment, listing them by name and saying, “Get rid of them all.” Additionally, Trump dismissed the idea of forming a third party, saying, “We're not starting new parties…We have the Republican Party. It's going to unite and be stronger than ever before.” Several left-rated outlets published opinion, analysis and fact-checking articles criticizing the speech. Left- and center-rated outlets were more likely to publish coverage on the speech itself, with several right-rated outlets publishing coverage of left-rated outlets' coverage of the speech.
