Dueling Halftime Shows: Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl and Kid Rock for Turning Point USA

As Americans prepare to watch the NFL season come to a close, Turning Point USA (Right bias) will host a halftime show to compete with pop superstar Bad Bunny's performance at the Super Bowl.

Bad Bunny: The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will compete in Super Bowl LX at 6:30 p.m. ET. Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican artist whose works are in Spanish, was named as the halftime show performer back in October. The announcement drew mixed reactions, including pushback from conservatives and commentators on the right. The singer, who is currently in the middle of a massively successful world tour, said in September that he left the United States off his tour routing because he feared Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would conduct operations at his shows.

TPUSA Show: Turning Point USA, a conservative activist organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk (Right), will host a halftime show in parallel, headlined by rock artist Kid Rock. Rock has long been an ardent supporter of President Trump and, in January, testified in front of Congress, advocating for a price cap on resale concert tickets.

Split Perspectives: Both artists, and their music at times, have used political rhetoric, prompting media across the spectrum to cover both performances from different angles. An analysis from BBC News (Center) said during this year's halftime, there will be a "battle" that is "equally high-profile" as the game and described it as a "culture war." Doug Robinson, a long-tenured sports columnist for Deseret News (Center), played down the importance of halftime and said he won't be watching either halftime show.
