Patients claim popular GLP-1 drugs led to permanent vision loss

As GLP-1s grow in popularity, so do the lawsuits against drugmakers for the health risks associated with taking them. More recent lawsuits against Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk allege the companies' weight-loss drugs cause permanent eye damage.

What the complaints say
The lawsuits claim GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, Mounjaro and Trulicity can lead to a specific condition called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, or NAION. The condition can cause vision changes and loss that can quickly result in blindness.
