Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are demanding answers from Taylor Farms over its role in a nationwide cyclospora outbreak that has sickened thousands of Americans and sparked political controversy surrounding the federal investigation.

Representative Robert Garcia of California, a Democrat on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, sent a letter Monday to Taylor Farms CEO Bruce Taylor seeking information about the company's handling of the outbreak and whether it attempted to influence federal regulators investigating the source of the contamination.
