Tyler Robinson, the suspect accused of fatally shooting Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at a speaking event at Utah Valley University (UVU) on Wednesday, has "a boyfriend who is transitioning from male to female," Utah Governor Spencer Cox told NBC News' Kristen Welker during a Sunday interview appearance on Meet the Press.
Newsweek has reached out to Cox's office on Sunday via email for further comment.
The FBI, meanwhile, declined to comment on the investigation when reached by email on Saturday.
