The Washington Post on Thursday gave Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz "four Pinnochios" for his speech on Tuesday, where he claimed GOP Vice Presidential hopeful JD Vance has "never cast a vote on a pro-worker bill."
Walz claimed earlier this week in a pro-union speech in Los Angeles that Vance is "one of four senators, four, that has never cast a vote on a pro-worker bill in his life ... A stopped clockβs right twice a day, this guy canβt get it right once, not once, for workers.β
The Post, which has largely been seen as a left-leaning news publication, said that the claim was not accurate because the scorecard Walz got his information from only counted votes in 2023, after Vance was elected in 2022. It also found two "pro-worker" votes that Vance has made, and mentioned that Vance picketed with protesters during the United Auto Worker strike in Michigan.
