The IDF confirmed that a senior Hamas commander responsible for all military operations in the northern Gaza Strip was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp in Gaza, according to Fox.
Ibrahim Biari and several other terrorists were killed in the strike, the Times of Israel reports.
Hamas underground tunnels collapsed from the blast, causing damage to nearby buildings.
Hamas claims 50 civilians died in the strike.
Lt. Col. Richard Hecht of the Israel Defense Forces said that the airstrike was a “tragedy of war.”
Hecht also said the Hamas commander Biari was "hiding, as they do, behind civilians."
