Former President Donald Trump’s decision to call Hezbollah “very smart” drew most of the headlines from his speech Wednesday night, but that wasn’t the only controversial thing Trump had to say.
As Israel still counts the civilians murdered by Hamas, Trump attacked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for allegedly not helping Trump’s strike against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani.
“We did it, but I’ll never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down. That was a very terrible thing,” Trump said Wednesday night. “We did the job ourself [sic], and it was absolute precision — magnificent, beautiful job. And then Bibi tried to take credit for it. … That didn’t make me feel too good.”
