Disney Said to Be Exploring Sale of ABC to Nexstar

Walt Disney Co. has held initial talks about a potential sale of its ABC broadcast network to Nexstar Media Group, the largest owner of television stations in the country, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

A source familiar with the discussions told Bloomberg that no specific valuation has been discussed as talks are still preliminary. Neither company confirmed the report.

“While we are open to considering a variety of strategic options for our linear businesses, at this time The Walt Disney Company has made no decision with respect to the divestiture of ABC or any other property and any report to that effect is unfounded,” a company spokesperson said in a emailed statement.
