During the war in Ukraine, 5937 Russian servicemen were killed. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in an interview with the Russia-24 TV channel.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Defense claims that Ukraine has already lost half of its army during the war: 61,207 dead, 49,368 wounded.
During the entire war, the Russian Ministry of Defense only twice reported its losses, the last time on March 25. Then the department stated that during the fighting in Ukraine, 1,351 Russian servicemen were killed, another 3,825 people were injured.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of September 21, estimates Russian losses in the war at 55,110 dead.
