Rudy Giuliani has been named a target of a Fulton County, Ga., investigation into efforts by then-President Donald Trump and his supporters to overturn the 2020 election in the state, one of his lawyers said Monday.
Robert Costello, an attorney for Mr. Giuliani, said prosecutors told Mr. Giuliani’s legal team that their client is a target of the investigation. Mr. Giuliani, a onetime personal lawyer for Mr. Trump, was a prominent supporter of efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election result. Mr. Giuliani was subpoenaed in the probe earlier this summer.
A spokesman for the office of Democratic Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is leading the investigation through a special grand jury, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Also Monday, a federal judge declined to block a subpoena issued to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) in the election probe.
