Lawmakers can bring a single guest to the inauguration of Joe Biden on Jan. 20, senators said on Wednesday, announcing a drastically scaled-down ceremony due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Sens. Roy Blunt, a Missouri Republican, and Amy Klobuchar, a Minnesota Democrat, who lead the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, told fellow lawmakers they won’t get the usual bundle of tickets to distribute to family, friends, and constituents. Instead, each lawmaker will receive just one extra ticket.
