Coronavirus tally: Global cases of COVID-19 25.2 million, 846,655 deaths and U.S. case tally nears 6 million

The global tally for confirmed cases of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 climbed to 25.2 million on Monday, according to data aggregated by Johns Hopkins University, while the death toll rose to 846,655. At least 16.6 million people have recovered. The U.S. has the highest tallies in the world with 5.99 million cases and 183,068 deaths. President Donald Trump retweeted a conspiracy theory over the weekend that the death toll is much lower and that criticized two of the leading experts on his own White House Task Force, Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx, as the New York Times reported.
