NJ parade featuring Gov. Murphy canceled after 6 explosive devices found

Labor Day festivities in a central New Jersey borough were called off Monday morning after explosive devices were found near the parade route just hours before the governor and first lady were set to arrive.

Thomas Kaiser, 55, was arrested in connection with “destructive devices” found at his South Plainfield property, close to the start of the 62nd Annual Labor Day Parade, which was canceled as a result, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

Officials found a half dozen of the explosive devices, a police source said.
