Newsmax’s bias rating moved from Lean Right to Right. People across the political spectrum on average rated Newsmax as Right in the AllSides February 2022 Blind Bias Survey. A subsequent independent review confirmed the Right rating.

People from across the political spectrum – people who identified as Left, Lean Left, Center, Lean Right, or Right – rated the media bias of Newsmax. On a scale of -9 to +9 with 0 representing Center, respondents on average rated Newsmax as 3.28, putting it in the Right category, and close to Lean Right.

When normalized, 12% of respondents rated Newsmax as left of center and 78% rated Newsmax as right of center. On average, people who self-identified as having a Right bias themselves rated Newsmax as Lean Right, while all other groups rated it Right on average. The last Blind Bias Survey conducted for Newsmax was in 2013. AllSides also conducted Editorial Reviews in 2019 and 2021 and reviewed independent research to inform its rating.
