Pensacola Shooting A Terrorist Act, Says AG Barr

U.S. Attorney General William Barr labeled last month's attack by a Saudi aviation student that killed three sailors and wounded eight others at the Navy base in Pensacola, FL "an act of terrorism" Monday, while calling on technology giant Apple to supposedly aid investigations by helping to unlock the killer's phones. Reporting outlets focused mainly on investigations into the killer's anti-American and jihadist motivations, as well as ongoing quarrels over privacy and public safety between Big Tech and the Justice Department. More notable differences were in how the shooting was labeled in headlines on the left and right sides of the spectrum; some headlines on the right put more emphasis on "jihadist" and "mass shooting," while others focused less on specifics.
