New Book Alleges Iranian Threats Against Trump More Serious Than Reported

Summary from the AllSides News Team

A not-yet released book reportedly detailed Iranian threats against President Donald Trump during his 2024 presidential campaign were more serious than publicly reported.

The Details: The book titled ‘Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power,’ expected to be released March 18, reportedly details insider knowledge of increased security due to worry of Iranian assassination threats. Author of the book and writer for Axios (Lean Left bias), Alex Isenstadt, enjoyed extensive access to Trump’s inner circle during his campaign.

Inside Access: Isenstadt reportedly described how law enforcement officials warned Trump about Iranian operatives inside the U.S. with access to surface-to-air missiles, raising concerns about his safety while traveling on Trump Force One. These concerns led security officials to utilize a decoy plane and decoy motorcade. The concerns reportedly grew worse following the Butler, Pennsylvania, and Florida golf course assassination attempts. Secret Service also reportedly used an electromagnetic gun through the moonroof of a motorcade vehicle to bring down a drone that was following the procession through Pennsylvania. Trump has since ordered Iran to be 'obliterated' should they follow through with an attempt on his life.

How The Media Covered It: Outlets on the left, like Axios and Daily Kos (Left), tended to frame the story around Trump’s fear of Iran since his 2020 decision to carry out airstrikes that killed Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani, highlighting the possible influence this may have on his political decisions. Outlets on the right, like Fox News (Right), seemed to frame Iran’s threats as legitimate and a justifiable reason for concern.
