Several States Unveil Plans to Start Reopening in Next 2 Weeks

Summary from the AllSides News Team

Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio and Texas are some of the several states that have described definite plans to allow certain businesses and other aspects of society to reopen in the next two weeks. Debate continues about how to balance the needs for public health during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and the need for economic stimulus, with protests of lockdown measures and business closures happening in certain states over the past week. Some outlets focused on the fact that many of the states on the verge of ending lockdown measures are run by Republican governors; some right-rated outlets concentrated on the Justice Department's expressed intention to intervene if it deems a certain state's lockdown measures are too overbearing. Others relied on statistical evidence to make a case for why states should or shouldn't open at this point.
