Biden Announces All Adults Will Be Eligible for COVID-19 Vaccine by May 1

President Joe Biden called on states to make all adults in America eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine by May 1 in his first prime-time address from the East Room of the White House. Biden also announced that the U.S. would have enough vaccine doses for all adults in America by the end of May. Biden tied pandemic recovery to the Fourth of July, saying, “If we do this together, by July the Fourth, there’s a good chance you, your families and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout or a barbeque and celebrate Independence Day.” Coverage from some left-rated outlets portrayed Biden’s speech and announcement more positively. As of Thursday evening, coverage was more common in left- and center-rated outlets than right-rated outlets.
