Nato needs to stop crying wolf on Russia

If you were only to read the headlines coming out of the transatlantic security space recently, you'd be forgiven for thinking that a full-scale war between Nato and Russia could start any day now.
Over the past few weeks, successive statements from Poland, France, Denmark, Norway and the CIA have all warned that Russia may attack the North Atlantic alliance in the coming months. The alarm has been further raised by Lithuania's plans to evacuate citizens to Poland in the event of a Russian attack. That's not to mention the German government's modeling of how well the country's infrastructure would function in a conflict scenario and, perhaps most notably, Russian state media's publication and subsequent removal of an article proclaiming a new Russian "special military operation" in Lithuania.
