Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was killed by a "deadly toxin" extracted from an Ecuadorian frog, according to the foreign ministries of five European countries.
Navalny died in February 2024 at the age of 47 while serving out a 19-year sentence in a Russian prison after being convicted on charges of extremism. The opposition leader led massive anti-Kremlin demonstrations and maintained that his imprisonment was politically motivated.
