The European Commission will ask the Donald Trump administration to exempt a list of sensitive EU goods ranging from whiskies through to medical equipment from U.S. tariffs, according to a 27-page list seen by POLITICO.
Pasta, cheese, wines and spirits, as well as olive oil and sunglasses, are among the priority sectors that Brussels wants Washington to shield from higher tariffs, along with diamonds, tools, metal pipes, ship engine parts, industrial equipment, fabrics, shoes, hats, ceramics and industrial robots.
