A U.S. military helicopter and a jet fighter from the same aircraft carrier crashed into the South China Sea within 30 minutes of each other on Sunday.
All five crew members were rescued and are in stable condition, the U.S. Pacific Fleet said on X. Both aircraft had taken off from the USS Nimitz, Americaβs oldest aircraft carrier that is returning to its home base on the U.S. West Coast for decommissioning scheduled for next year.
