The crackdown on illegal immigrants is having a significant impact on industries like construction that rely heavily on migrant labor. Spotlight on America found the recent escalation in raids is having a chilling effect on undocumented workers, with many not showing up for jobs at construction sites. Industry leaders told National Investigative Correspondent Angie Moreschi it’s delaying projects and increasing costs for home builders and home buyers.

Brent Taylor is a general contractor in Florida. On the day we met him at one of his job sites in Indian Rocks Beach, he planned to have a crew there, but says with the immigration crackdown, that’s getting more challenging.
