Using certain vegetable oils instead of butter may help people live longer, healthier lives, according to a new study. The study, published Thursday in JAMA Internal Medicine, builds on a large body of research showing the health benefits of olive oil in particular, and on recent studies that have complicated conventional wisdom about butter’s links with heart disease and overall mortality risk.
