Another round of layoffs have been announced at the University of Texas at Austin-- this time, affecting the communications department. "I know that somewhere around 19 to 20 workers have been laid off, basically an entire communications team," said Texas State Employees Union Board Member, Anne Lewis. The people affected were notified about two weeks ago. This comes after the first round of layoffs at UT Austin in April, where nearly 60 people who worked in DEI departments were fired after Senate Bill 17 was enforced.
