Afghan terrorist caught crossing border released in San Antonio, said U.S. officials

An alarming development in the border crisis.
Among the record number of migrants crossing the southern border was a member of an Afghan terror organization. who was released in San Antonio by border agents, according to U.S. officials.
Mohammad Kharwin, 48, illegally crossed into California in March 2023. His name is on the U.S. terror watch list, identifying him as a member of HIG, a terror group which has a history of targeting and killing Americans in Afghanistan.
Despite border agents suspecting Kharwin's affiliation with the terror group at the time of his apprehension, they lacked corroborating information, according to U.S. officials.
