The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 1:38 a.m. on Wednesday in effect until 2:15 a.m. for Allegheny, Beaver, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Residents should be prepared for wind gusts of up to 70 mph. "At 1:37 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Imperial, or 9 miles southwest of Moon Township, moving east at 45 mph," says the weather service. "Trees snapped and uprooted.
