A federal jury of nine New Yorkers was selected Tuesday in the second defamation trial over statements Donald Trump made about advice columnist E. Jean Carroll.

The trial will determine how much money in damages Trump will have to pay Carroll for statements he made in 2019 that a judge determined were defamatory.

No alternates were selected for the panel.

The jurors will remain anonymous throughout the trial and will be shuttled to and from the courthouse each day, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan said.

The trial will be the second time Trump and Carroll have squared off in U.S. District Court in Manhattan in less than a year.
