While discussing FBI whistleblowers who are revealing details about the agency's political weaponization on behalf of Democrats, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.), ranking member of the Senate Permanent Committee on Investigations, said the FBI "interfered in the 2020 election" and wanted to "bury the Hunter Biden laptop."
Since mid-2020, Sen. Johnson and Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) have been investigating the laptop scandal and alleged corruption at the FBI. In recent months, an unknown number of FBI agents apparently have been speaking with the senators about the problems they've seen at the agency.
When asked on Hannity, Aug. 31, about the whistleblowers and what he has learned, Sen Johnson said, "[M]y sources have been very specific in the areas that these whistleblowers are discussing and there are three specific areas. One is the protection of Hunter Biden and, as we know, there's very clear and compelling evidence, prima facie case of crimes committed and evidence on that laptop."
