Klobuchar, 5’4”, claims to be same height as Jefferson in Maher interview confusion

Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a surging Democratic White House hopeful, mistakenly said she’s just as tall as the towering Thomas Jefferson in a botched history reference on “The Real Time with Bill Maher.”

Klobuchar is 5 feet 4 inches tall. Jefferson was among the tallest U.S. presidents standing at 6 feet 2 inches.

The blunder happened when Klobuchar, D-Minn., weighed into the dustup between President Trump and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg during the HBO interview that aired Friday night. Trump routinely teases Bloomberg for his short stature and recently accused “Mini Mike” of being just 5 feet 4 inches.
