Manafort Lawyer to Resume Grilling of Rick Gates: Trial Update

Rick Gates, the star witness in Paul Manafort’s fraud trial, returns to the witness stand Wednesday for more tough questions by a Manafort attorney who will try to poke holes in his credibility. Defense attorney Kevin Downing said late Tuesday that he expects to cross-examine Gates for another hour, and then prosecutors will get to question him again. Prosecutors may then turn to an FBI witness.
