Tornado with quarter-sized hail possible in Franklin and Hampshire counties Saturday

The National Weather Service released a tornado warning at 2:14 p.m. on Saturday in effect until 2:45 p.m. for Franklin and Hampshire counties. Quarter-sized hail (1 inch) is forecast with the incoming storm. "At 2:14 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Plainfield, or 12 miles southeast of North Adams, moving northeast at 35 mph," explains the weather service.
