Trump ‘Works’ the Fryers and Window at Pennsylvania McDonald’s in Campaign Event

Former President Donald Trump made a campaign stop at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania on Sunday, where he briefly worked the fryers and engaged with supporters at the drive-thru window.

For Context: Vice President Kamala Harris has previously claimed she worked at McDonald’s while in college but has not provided proof, morphing it into a talking point for Trump. While working the window, Trump said, “I've now worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala at McDonald's.”

From the Left: The Washington Post (Lean Left bias) prominently noted that the restaurant was closed to the public and that the Secret Service “screened” and “positioned” participants. The coverage read, “No one ordered food. Instead, the attendees received whatever Trump gave them.” The Post framed the story heavily from the angle that Trump dodged a question about the minimum wage but instead focused on his “unsubstantiated claim” that Harris never worked at McDonald’s.

From the Right: Fox News (Right bias) did not note that the restaurant was closed and described drive-thru attendees as “customers.” It also described a Brazilian supporter who Trump engaged with as “surprised.” Fox claimed there were “thousands” of Trump supporters gathered across the street, while the Washington Post described the supporters as “a crowd.”

Common Ground: ZeroHedge (Lean Right bias) described the event as a “fun publicity stunt,” which it said “McTriggered” the left. Like the Post, however, and unlike Fox, ZeroHedge noted that the restaurant was closed and the event was “staged.” ZeroHedge added, “Well, duh. The guy was only almost assassinated twice (or thrice) and this is for fun.”
