President Donald Trump is in “excellent overall health” following laboratory tests and assessments of major bodily functions, according to a memorandum from his physician, Sean Barbabella.

The Details: In a press release distributed to the media, Barbabella stated that Trump underwent a scheduled follow-up evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, on Friday. The memorandum described the president as being in “exceptional health,” citing “strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance.” The medical evaluation was part of Trump’s “ongoing health maintenance plan.”

Trump’s Letter: The letter stated that Trump’s health screening also included “advanced imaging” and “preventive health assessments” conducted by a multidisciplinary team of specialists. In preparation for upcoming international travel, Trump received his annual flu shot and “updated COVID-19 booster vaccinations.” According to Barbabella, an electrocardiogram revealed that Trump’s “cardiac age… was found to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age.”

For Context: In July, Trump underwent a separate health evaluation during which Barbabella diagnosed him with chronic venous insufficiency—a benign and common condition often seen in individuals over age 70. The memorandum at the time noted minor bruising on the back of Trump’s hand, which had appeared in recent photographs.

How The Media Covered It: Most news outlets reported consistently on President Trump’s recent health evaluation. However, Fox News (Right bias) framed the checkup as a confirmation of his vitality, repeatedly quoting the physician’s statement that Trump remains in “excellent overall health” and highlighting his “demanding daily schedule.” In contrast, ABC News (Lean Left) provided additional context, referencing Trump’s July diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency “after he was seen with deep bruises on his hand and swollen legs.”
