Man Arrested at Trump National Golf Club After Allegedly Posing as Security

A man was arrested Sunday at the Trump National Golf Club in Southern California on federal and state charges after authorities found ammunition on him and guns in his vehicle.

Security Detail: 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele was observed taking photographs and videos of federal agents while performing security-planning activities before Trump's visit on Tuesday. Taele was first noticed on Friday before returning on Sunday, prompting staff to alert federal agents. Taele allegedly approached federal agents claiming he was hired by the State Department as part of a security detail. 

Locked and Loaded: The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department arrested Taele after learning that he was wanted in connection with a 2025 robbery case. Deputies found a 16-round magazine with hollow-point rounds in his pocket, a loaded pistol in his car; binoculars; and a badge that read "security protection agent." Taele's house was also searched, turning up a cache of weapons and ammo, including an illegally modified AR-style rifle, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and radio equipment.

How The Media Covered It: Outlets across the political spectrum all tended to highlight the possibility that this was yet another thwarted attempt against Trump's life. Some outlets on the right, like Blaze Media (Right bias) mentioned that Taele was Hispanic, while outlets on the left failed to mention any details concerning race. Furthermore, the Blaze article said that "Leftists have for years publicly fantasized about the demise" of Trump, adding that "Some radicals have attempted to make these murderous dreams a reality."
