Summary from the AllSides News Team
Los Angeles County will soon require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for anyone entering bars, nightclubs, wineries and breweries. The mandate, which will be issued Friday, will require employees and patrons to have their first shot by Oct. 7; the deadline for full vaccination is Nov. 4. The health department plans to provide resources for businesses to help them verify vaccine status.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) says he supports local health decisions, while indicating that the state has no immediate plans to follow suit. About 67% of Los Angeles residents have received at least their first COVID-19 vaccine.
