Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Criticizes Biden on COVID-19
Summary from the AllSides News Team
On Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) said he will "stand in the way" of President Joe Biden and any COVID-19 rules that would restrict Floridians' freedoms or hurt local businesses. DeSantis argued that Biden is wrong to require Americans to follow coronavirus restrictions while allowing immigrants who may have COVID-19 to enter the United States.
According to the New York Times (Lean Left bias), Florida is averaging over 17,000 new COVID-19 cases per day, the highest infection rate the state has experienced during the pandemic. The average number of daily COVID-19 related deaths in Florida is currently increasing, but remains well below its pandemic peak.
