New York Attorney General Letitia James is suing the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office for failing to comply with a new law limiting cooperation with federal immigration officials.

The New York Attorney General's office is asking the Rensselaer County Supreme Court to order the sheriff's office to end its partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the lawsuit filed Thursday in the state's Supreme Court.
