Chinese Stocks Rise as Growth Target Raises Hope for Stimulus

Chinese shares advanced in early Wednesday trading, as top leaders began the country’s annual parliamentary meetings by unveiling key economic targets that raised expectations for more stimulus measures.

A gauge of stocks listed in Hong Kong gained as much as 2.4%. The CSI 300 Index, a benchmark of onshore shares, added 0.2%.
