Giuliani’s $148 million debt should be Trump’s problem, too

Once he was respected as “America’s Mayor.” Now, Rudy Giuliani is liable for $148 million to two Georgia election workers for the lies and defamation caused by his obsession with trying to keep former Donald Trump in office after his 2020 election loss.

Over the years, Trump considered Giuliani as a confidante and his biggest fan. Giuliani tried all of his legal tricks to validate the election for Trump, even losing all those court cases, so he lied about the counting of the votes. Rudy’s shenanigans only got him deeper in debt, and cost him the admiration the country had for him after 9/11, while he was mayor of New York City.

Now his loyalty will go unappreciated by the former president. Will Trump pay Giuliani’s legal bills? Will Trump pay the $148 million that Giuliani now owes to the Georgia plaintiffs? No. Trump doesn’t care about loyalty — only his own reputation. Is this the type of man we still want as president?
