US Launches New Strikes Against Iran 'In Honor' of Two Soliders Killed

At least two Americans were killed in Iranian strikes on Jordan last week, prompting the US to launch a new wave of strikes against Iran "in honor" of the deceased soldiers.

The Details: NPR (Lean Left bias) reported that US Central Command said the most recent strikes "are designed to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and swiftly punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces who launched attacks against American service members in Jordan last night." NPR also highlighted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's statement on the Americans' deaths, writing, "Godspeed, heroes. Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve."

Who Were the Soldiers? Daily Wire (Right) reported that two soldiers killed in Jordan were 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas. President Donald Trump suggested that there may have been a third death, saying, "We hit [Iran] very hard again tonight, and we did that in honor of the probably three. It's probably three as opposed to two great patriots." Daily Wire reported that at least 16 US service members have died in the conflict with Iran since March.

Conflict Within the Republican Party: HuffPost (Left) highlighted splits in the Republican Party over the war in Iran, particularly in a social media conversation between former Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) and Hegseth. In response to Hegseth's post about the soldiers' "sacrifice," Greene wrote, "Sacrifice?? What the f*** are you talking about?? They did not willingly sacrifice themselves. They were killed because of the war you, Trump, and the admin are waging on behalf of a FOREIGN COUNTRY, Israel. You mean their deaths fuel your bloodlust for a senseless war." HuffPost described the interaction as explosive.
