Santander app and mobile banking down as customers unable to make payments

Santander's banking and mobile app has gone down leaving hundreds of customers unable to make payments. Over 600 customers have reported problems with the high street bank's services on the Downdetector website, which monitors the status of online services. Around two-thirds of customers have reported issues with instant payments, and a further 17% say they are unable to use their debit cards. Around 21% saw issues logging into business accounts.
