Gas Prices Fall 6 Cents Ahead of Thanksgiving

Gas prices have fallen ahead of Thanksgiving, according to AAA, giving holiday travelers an early present as they prepare to get in their cars and visit with family and friends over the long weekend.

On Monday, the national average price for a gallon of regular gas fell to $3.31 down from nearly $3.37 from a week ago, data from AAA showed, helped by falling global oil prices. Over the last month, crude oil prices were down more than 11 percent, according to Google Finance.

"Drivers this Thanksgiving can expect cheaper gas prices," Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, said in a statement last week. "Ten states now have sub $3 a gallon averages, and more will join soon. So savvy drivers will find savings on their way to a turkey dinner this year."
