Despite a series of painful defeats at the front and the heavy losses of the Russian army, Vladimir Putin does not abandon plans to take Kyiv. To achieve his goal, he is ready to fight for several years, regardless of losses. Two unrelated sources told about this to Important Stories: one of them is close to the General Staff, the second to the FSB.

According to our interlocutors, the Russian military leadership predicts that by the summer of next year, losses among the mobilized, many of whom were sent to the front without preparation, could amount to about 100,000 people.

β€œIn general terms, the plan is something like this: for now, gain time and stabilize the front with the help of the mobilized. And then start all over again in the spring,” says a source close to the FSB. According to him, the political and military leadership of Russia understands that this plan implies heavy losses: β€œBy the spring of next year, the loss in killed and wounded [according to one of the forecasts] could be about 100,000. But this does not scare anyone: they will be replaced by conscripts.”
