Additional Information
USA TODAY’s fact check section aims "to correct and stop the spread of significant misinformation.”
Much of the fact-checking page is focused on viral social media posts or unfounded theories. However, some argue its story choice leans left because many of its political fact-checks focus on issues associated with the left, such as President Biden's speech viewership and coronavirus vaccine safety. However, it did refute a social media post criticizing former President Donald Trump's immigration policies. It also addressed a subjective interpretation about Venmo by adding more context about new transaction fees.
