    Bing Search Biased 57% to the Left: 2024 Analysis

    A 2024 AllSides bias analysis of Bing Search results found 57% of the news sources Bing featured in results for select terms were from outlets on the left. 

    The 2024 Bing Search analysis examined 687 articles over a two-week period in August. It looked at the featured articles based on 10 search terms: Election News, Abortion News, Economy News, Harris News, Climate Change News, Trump News, Crime News, Voter Fraud News, Immigration News, Gun Control News.

    The results were similar to what AllSides found in a March 2023 analysis of Bing News (Lean Left).

    Bing featured 57% outlets rated Lean Left, 3% rated Left, 30% Center, 9% Lean Right and 6% Right.

    Out of 687 outlets analyzed, media outlets that were featured the most often in Microsoft Bing search results were Newsweek (Center), Washington Post (Lean Left), Fox News (Right), CBS News (Lean Left), USA Today (Lean Left), Yahoo! News (Lean Left), The New York Times (Lean Left), ABC News (Lean Left), CNN (Lean Left), Associated Press (Lean Left). All of the top 10 featured sources were rated Lean Left, except for Newsweek and Fox News.
