An AllSides analysis of NewsBreak’s bias in December 2025 found the news aggregator displayed more sources with an AllSides Media Bias Rating™ on the left than the center or right. However, the overall share of sources averaged out to a Center rating, due to 19% of articles being from sources rated Right. Following the 2025 analysis, NewsBreak's overall AllSides Media Bias Rating moved from Lean Left (-1.28) to Center (-0.42).
Of 140 articles evaluated over a two-week period, 60% of articles were from news outlets AllSides rates on the left, 8% from the Center, and 20% from the right.
While it is still not perfectly balanced, NewsBreak grew more balanced since our 2023 analysis, reducing the share of outlets on the left and increasing the share of outlets on the right.
Note: Percentages are rounded to whole numbers; totals may not sum exactly due to rounding.

Just because the news is aggregated from different sources does not mean readers are getting the full picture of different perspectives. But our analysis indicates that NewsBreak might be moving toward a more balanced aggregation of news.
AllSides has found a similar pattern in SmartNews, which also increased its curation of outlets on the right in 2025. Hopefully the trend toward more balanced aggregation continues so that readers are able to understand the media landscape and decide what they think for themselves.
AllSides Media Bias Ratings™ reflect the average judgment of all Americans, not just a panel of insiders.
